When does resigning count as dismissal?
  • A real worsening of your pay or conditions, or other reasons that make it unfair to expect you to stay.
  • Your own health, or the health of a family member, makes it hard to keep working.
  • Within 9 months after a birth or adoption, to look after the child.
  • Moving home after marriage, or to follow a spouse, to a place too far from work.
  • Moving to a kibbutz, a moshav or a development area.
  • Reaching retirement age.

Each case has conditions (for example, telling your employer first). Check yours before you resign.
